SecureCattle is a high quality, easy to use pour-on solution that contains maternal bovine appeasing substance (mBAS) which allows cattle to better control their reactions to stress.
SecureCattle is currently available in a 1000 mL bottle that treats 200 head. Each bottle comes with a threaded, 5mL pre-calibrated applicator that screws on to the 1000 mL bottle.
There are 6 bottles in a case.
SecureCattle was initially launched in 2020 and has been available globally in countries across Asia, Europe and South America. It was launched in the United States in 2025.
SecureCattle’s proprietary carrier allows Cattle to accurately detect bovine appeasing pheromone (BAP) through their vomeronasal organ which transmits the message to the brain. Unlike any other appeasing products, SecureCattle allows two delivery mechanisms: Into the lipidic film (sebum), that lays in the skin and to bind with the hair releasing it slowly over 14 days through volatilization created by the heat of the animal. The message is passed to the area of the brain that control emotions and the various physiological mechanisms they influence. The brief action allows the animal to use its adaptive abilities without being overwhelmed by stress.
5 mL / head regardless of weight or age of the animal
No, all cattle, regardless of weight, have the same dosage of 5 mL / head.
Apply the entire 5 mL dose to the animal on the top of their neck in a single location between the poll and withers (nuchal skin area).
SecureCattle’s formulation is optimized for release of the mBAS from the body’s warmth and the air circulating on the surface of the skin. That process is improved even more when the animals move. The carrier in SecureCattle, acts as a vehicle to deliver the mBAS efficiently to the target organ, without having to dose the animal on the muzzle. This is more convenient for you, and better for them too!
The detection of pheromones results from the activation of specific neurons located in the vomeronasal organ. As with all sensory neurons, their activation is not dose-related, it is a “yes or no” system. Since SecureCattle’s proprietary formulation activates the neurons through optimized volatilization, appeasement is accomplished from just 1% mBAS inclusion. It takes the other mBAS products 10 times more active ingredient to activate sensory neurons due to their under optimized mineral oil carrier.
Yes, SecureCattle’s carrier is a highly purified diethylene-glycol-monoethyl-ether (DEGME). It is commonly used in pharmaceutical, cosmetic, and food industries. Although SecureCattle—just like all other mBAS products— is not regulated by the FDA, the DEGME included in it is approved by the FDA for use as a topical excipient in cosmetics and pharmaceuticals.
No. For more details regarding SecureCattle’s safety refer to the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) available on the ‘Resources’ tab of the website.
Yes, lots. There has been a significant amount of research published in leading scientific journals globally that has established the benefit of Maternal Bovine Appeasing Substance (mBAS) when used in cattle of all ages and stages to alleviate stress and improve productivity and well-being.
In fact, all mBAS research published prior to 2023 was done using SecureCattle® from the SIGNS/IRSEA group. If you are interested in viewing these, go to the ‘Research’ tab of the website.
No, SecureCattle was the first Bovine Appeasing Pheromone (BAP) product ever developed for cattle and available globally. In fact, FerAppease was designed in an attempt to copy the mBAS in SecureCattle.
This is happening because the bottle is getting vapor locked. Simply unscrew the applicator, allow for the bottle to expand once air enters, screw the applicator back on and carry on!
According to published literature, SecureCattle is chemically detectable for 15 days (mean value) after being applied. There is published research (Cooke et al.) that has proven measurable effect of SecureCattle for up to 45 days post-application.
Apply to cattle at, or prior to stressful events. Common events that induce stress in cattle include (but are not limited to) weaning, handling, transporting, treating or vaccinating, commingling, or every 30 days when cattle are in challenging environment or pressured production phase (lactating, feeding, pen space, etc).
If the product freezes, the liquid will separate in 2 phases. You need to put it back at standard temperature (around 68° Fahrenheit) and shake it intensively to restore the solution.
Apply SecureCattle at least 30 minutes before rain begins
A 1000 mL bottle of SecureCattle treats 200 head, the others only treat 100 head (based on their labeled dose for cattle ≥ 200 lbs.)
3 years from date of manufacture
No, it is very stable, and if stored under the appropriate conditions, it will still last the full 3 years (its expiration date).
